Ana Figueiras

Recorder Player / Teacher

Ana Figueiras was a student of Francisco Rosado. She has a master degree in recorder performance from Luka-School of Arts – Leuven, where she studied with Bart Spanhove and Bart Coen and a master degree in music teaching from Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, as a student of Pedro Couto Soares.
Ana has played hundreds of concerts as a member of several early music groups as “Il Dolcimello”, Concertus Antiquos, Ensemble Chiaroscuro, concerto ibérico, Carnet de Cuisine, Dulci Suono, Armilar Ensemble, Ali Ensemble, amongst others. She also played as a guest with the Flanders Recorder Quartet in Loulé, in 2017.
Ana cooperated as a teacher in the international recorder courses in Lyme-Regis, is a founding teacher of the Early music summer camp – early music course in Castelo Novo and of the I international recorder consort course of Almeida.
She won the first prize in the belgium recorder competiton Prijs Mieke Van Weddingen in 2014.
Ana has a regular musical activity in Portugal and has a large experience teaching recorder and ensemble practice at the Conservatorio de Música de Loulé-Francisco Rosado. She has influenced many students to learn early music and recorder in the Algarve region. Ana is the artistic director of the Encontros de Música Antiga de Loulé-Francisco Rosado and of the Ensemble de Flautas de Loulé.
